Laurence Le Guay (1917-1990)
Le Guay began work in 1935 at the Dayne portrait studio before setting up set up his own studio in 1938, and became a member of the Sydney Camera Circle. He saw war service as a RAAF photographer, and re-established his studio with John Nisbett in 1946, developing and maintaining a reputation as the leading fashion and illustration studio as well as founding Contemporary Photography magazine, and travelling to Central Australia, New Guinea, and Antarctica in the 1940s.
