Monte Luke (1885-1962)
Began working as an actor for JC Williamson in 1907, moving on to still and motion picture photography. Went into partnership with Falk Studios, Sydney, 1919; took over Appleby's studio in 1920. Like Cazneaux and Bostock, Luke maintained a leading role in amateur art photography circles and was a prolific exhibitor. Elected to the elite Sydney Camera Circle in 1921. Landscapes formed a major part of his exhibition work during 1930s.
