affecting parts of image.
In Greek
mythology, Glaucus was a fisherman of Anthedon, who placed his
catch on some herbs. The fish leapt into the sea, he ate the
herbs and was immediately turned into a Triton. Given the gift
of prophecy by Apollo, he appeared to sailors, predicting sinister
occurrences.

einiger Landschaften von Neu-Sud-Wales which contained a series
of six engravings copied from Governor Phillip's published journal.
It was common practice in the 18th century for foreign publishers
to "commandeer" prints and drawings of newly discovered
lands, people, flora, fauna etc. This helped to sell publications
to a public eager for information on the latest discoveries.
