The letter, on Gene Autry letterhead, dated July 18th 1958, is written to Australian fans, "To all my friends listening to 'Playtime'", mentioning radio station 2WG. Known as "The Singing Cowboy", Gene Autry was one of the most popular and successful singers of the 30s and 40s, with such hits as "The Yellow Rose of Texas". He starred in many B movies with his horse, Champion. |
