Wild Australia
The performers illustrated in the Wild Australia posters could be members of the Lloyd family, which had notorious ancestors. Tom Lloyd, who was a cousin of Ned Kelly, had a common law marriage with Margaret Kelly, the sister of Ned Kelly. They were both skilled riders and staunch supporters of the Kelly Gang. They had eleven children. After becoming a widower in 1896, Lloyd married Rachel Hart, sister of Steve Hart, who was also a member of the Kelly Gang. The couple had six children, making a total of seventeen children in the Lloyd family. Lloyd was reputed to be one of the best rough riders in Australia. In the early 1900s he and his cousin, Jack Lloyd performed in a show in Victoria. One of the sons, Edward, known as Ned Lloyd of Wild Australia, performed with the Australian Buckjumpers at the Crystal Palace in London in 1911.
