Campbell's techniques are a mixture of painting and printmaking.
A design is drawn on plywood, and then each line is carved out
with an engraving tool. Several coats of watercolour paint are
applied to separate segments of the image. Campbell then carefully
sprays the woodblock with water and takes a single impression.
Campbell studied at the Yoshida Hanga Academy in Tokyo to further
enhance her skills in manipulating the woodblock medium. (Ref:
