Rare 1937 Dodge
Two-door sedan with floating power Australian-made all steel
body by

The car has full registration for 12 months
with NSW number plate: AO-62-JL

Dodge background: Owner pre-1950 was Mr G. Binskin of
Sydney (who was the second owner). The car was sold to
Peter Finlay of Canberra in the 1950s for £210, and later
given to his son Bruce in 1969. The car was purchased by
current and fifth owner Josef Lebovic in 1978.
Up until 1968 the car had only done
198,000 miles. It was restored and re-upholstered in 1974 by
Bruce Finlay. While the Dodge has been well maintained, it would
benefit from a respray. The car comes with a great number spare
parts, including an extra motor, tail shafts, radiator, brake
drums, gear box spares, etc.

Richards of Adelaide
T.J. Richards & Sons was a highly successful Adelaide-based
car body building company which had been Holdens main competitor
since 1922.
For several
years T.J. Richards had designed and fitted car bodies to locally
made Chrysler vehicles (Plymouth, Dodge and De Soto). Ahead of
its competitors, T.J. Richards produced Australias first
all steel sedan body, marketed in 1937/1938.
