1971. Silver gelatin photograph of a six-panel drawing, added captions by a previous owner in faded ink in each panel, 60.5 x 51cm. Paper and surface loss, old folds, silvering, slight foxing. Linen-backed. Captions include “I need a bong. And agin. Ah, that’s better.” This poster is a photographic proof before transfer to plates. The printed numbers along the edges would be trimmed off for the final crop. Originally printed by Apex Novelties, San Francisco. American writer and cartoonist, Robert Crumb’s work “primarily satirises contemporary American culture. Crumb was integral to the underground comix movement, which typically includes self-published comics that are often satirical and feature taboo content.” Ref: Wiki, Button Museum.
