[Chapel Threshold With Blossoms]

c1916. Metal relief print, signed in plate lower left, signed and annotated “38” in pencil in lower margin, 32.9 x 24.6cm. Minor stains to margins.

Shrimpton was known to have experimented with relief print techniques, using metal instead of wood. Her partner, British artist William Giles, also experimented with techniques and devised an oil colour method of printing from metal plates known as the “Giles Method”. Ref: Brit. Museum.
