Publicity Stills From “A Girl Of The Bush”
c1921. Group of 22 silver gelatin photographs, most are annotated “Barrett Australian Productions” and captioned in negative, sizes from 18.2 x 14.7cm to 14.6 x 19.6cm. Minor creases, scuffs and silvering to the edges of some images. A Girl of the Bush was a 1921 silent film directed by Franklyn Barrett. It is one of the few films from Barrett to survive in its entirety today. The plot involves a young woman, the manager of Kangaroo Flat Sheep Station, who is pursued by two men, one “evil” and one a “handsome surveyor.” The film was shot at Fremantle Station near Bathurst, NSW.
