Graf Zeppelin Landing

1932. Colour lithograph, signed and dated in image upper right, 110.7 x 81.1cm. Foxing overall, repaired slight missing portions, tears, creases and old folds. Linen-backed.

Kleiboer’s Organisatie, Coolsingel 75-79. Tel. 24820 – Rotterdam. Offsetdruk Kühn & Zn, R’dam.” Poster describes the size of the Zeppelin: 226 metres long, 34 metres high and 30 metres wide. The Graf Zeppelin was a large German dirigible named after aviation pioneer, Graf Ferdinand von Zeppelin. It flew for the first time on Sept. 18, 1928, and was the largest airship at that time. This poster commemorates the first landing of a zeppelin in the Netherlands.
