1855. Engraving with roulette, text including title, engraver, artist, key and date in plate below image, 29.1 x 52.9cm. Soiling, repaired missing portions, tears, trimmed plate mark. Laid down on acid-free backing. Text includes “Drawn by N. Whittock, from official surveys and from sketches taken in 1854, by G. Teale, Esq’r, Melbourne. London. Published May 1, 1855 by Lloyd Brothers & Co. 22 Ludgate Hill.” The key lists 47 locations. Very rare important view of Melbourne, produced at the peak of the gold rush in Victoria, showing the great changes to the city.
