Residence Of F.R. White Esq., “Booloominbah”, Armidale, NSW

1889. Hand-coloured lithograph, text with date and title in image, 33.7 x 61.8cm. Slight crinkles and soiling overall, some offsetting to left portion of image, minor tears to margins.

Text includes “The Building and Engineering Journal, Nov. 23, 1889. J. Horbury Hunt, Architect.” John Horbury Hunt, one of the leading architects of his day, designed “Booloominbah” for pastoralist and community leader Frederick Robert White, who was the great uncle of Nobel Prize-winning novelist Patrick White. The home was donated to help establish the University of New England in 1938. Ref: UNE.
