1944. Lithograph, 81.5 x 70.6cm. Repaired tears to edges, slight foxing. Linen-backed. Text includes “Surveyed by task group 70-5.” This poster was designed as a WWII goose game by the sailors on board the Australian HMAS Warrego (U73). Held in Dutch Navy Museum. One of the vignettes shows an unflattering image of “Tokyo Rose” with a sailor in a sinking rowboat. Iva Toguri (1916–2006), also known as “Tokyo Rose,” was an infamous Japanese-American radio personality who broadcasted propaganda to American troops during WWII.
