The Gough Whitlam Loyalty Plaque
1975. Bronze wall plaque, signed lower left, accompanied with original promotional leaflet, 26.5 x 21.7cm (plaque); 30 x 19cm (leaflet). Leaflet contains a statement by Cherina, which includes “He’s [Whitlam] opened Australia to the world by giving Australia international strength. I hope people will express their loyalty by their vote and buying my plaque as a donation to the Labor party to help his fight ‘which must be won for Australia’s sake’.” Ref: Canberra Times, 21/11/75. The accompanying leaflet is extremely rare.
