Edward Dyson
1913. Vintage silver gelatin photograph, annotations in two different contemporary hands including photographers’ names and date in ink on backing verso, 20.5 x 15.5cm. Silvering, slight scuffs and minor surface loss to edges. Annotations read “Photo by May and Mina Moore. [Sitter] Edward Dyson, author of A Golden Shanty. Taken September 1913.” Held in NLA. Edward George Dyson (1865-1931) was an Australian journalist, poet, playwright and short story writer. He was the elder brother of illustrators Will Dyson and Ambrose Dyson.
