c1943. Watercolour, signed lower right, titled in ink on slip from original mat board mounted below image, 25.8 x 29.5cm. Old glue stains to margins. Warner was called up for military service in 1941, working as a camouflager and poster artist. In 1943 he was appointed an official war artist, covering the activities of the RAAF, where his first mission was to record Australian operations against the Japanese in New Guinea. Ref: AWM.
