Trimmed platemark, repaired tears and creases to image upper right, creases, slight tears and missing portions to margins. Laid down on acid-free backing. Text reads “Engraved by Alfred Jones. From a painting by F.W. Edmonds in the possession of F.J. Betts Esq. Published by the American Art Union exclusively for the members, 1844. Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1845 by American Art Union in the Clerk’s Office of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Printed by Burton.” Held in Library of Congress.
