Text includes “$1,500 reward. Between 4.30pm, on Friday, 19th March, 1976, and 7.30am, on Monday, 22nd March, 1976, a person or persons maliciously injured the Memorial in Honour of the Bathurst Men who served in the South African War, 1899-1902, which is erected in Kings Parade, Bathurst. Notice is hereby given that two separate rewards in the amounts of one thousand dollars ($1,000) and five hundred dollars ($500) will be paid by the Government of New South Wales, on behalf of the Donors, for such information as will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for maliciously injuring the War Memorial…Premier’s Department, Sydney, 11th October 1976.
