Held in NLA with the comment “George Hamori, renowned stamp designer for many countries and the United Nations, was born in Budapest in 1918. He left Hungary in 1948 or 1949 and after some time in Israel settled in Australia in 1956. He designed the logo of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in 1961. In 1963 he was one of the artists selected to submit a design for Australia’s new decimal currency. He won prizes for the graphic design of his annual reports for Qantas, and worked for them until 1963.”
