Text continues “Diphtheria caused 50,000 cases and 2,000 deaths in New South Wales in the ten years 1929-1938. Those who died were nearly all young children who could have been saved by immunization against diphtheria. Some 350,000 Australian children have recently been protected by this means, including 180,000 in this State. Your local council, assisted by the Public Health Department, is making available to all, the safe, harmless and effective method of protection by Anatoxin. This is your responsibility.
