[Sydney Opera House Under Construction]

c1965. Vintage silver gelatin photograph proof sheet, multiple numeric annotations by Max Dupain in pencil, and signed by son Rex Dupain in pencil in authentication stamp verso, 20.3 x 12.8cm. Handling crinkles, minor chips to edges.

The Sydney Opera House was designed by Danish architect Jörn Utzon in 1957. Construction of the roofs, seen in the image, commenced in 1963 and concluded in 1966. The iconic building was completed in 1973, ten years overdue and 14 times over budget, costing $102 million. Ref: NMA.
