1944. Colour lithograph, signed “Pat Keely” and dated in image upper left, 74.5 x 49.1cm. Repaired tears to old pinholes and edges, minor crinkles and foxing. Linen-backed. Text in Dutch and English continues “Werkt en vecht ervoor! (Work and fight for it!). Printed in England by James Haworth & Brother Ltd, London. Uitage RVD no. 4 C4.” Held in IWM, and AWM with the comment “Published by the Dutch Government in exile in London. It was distributed in the liberated south of the Netherlands to encourage its citizens in the war effort.” Patrick (Patou) Cokayne Keely (d.1970) was a British graphic artist known for his WWII posters for the Ministry of Information along with strongly stylised commercial posters.
