c1860s. Albumen paper photograph, photographer’s line and annotations in ink and pencil on backing below image and verso, 13.2 x 21.6cm. Developing flaws (Nettleton’s dot), stains and silvering, laid down on original backing.

Annotations include “C. Nettleton Photo. Melbourne. New numbers, 27-29-31 Little Collins Street, Melbourne, showing Coates Lane” and “The property of K.H. Coates, 9/31 Lansell Rd, Toorak.”
