c1910s. Printing-out paper photograph, 15.5 x 20.5cm. Minor creases. Plaque in image includes Latin text “D.O.M. [Deo optimo maximo]…/ Abi in pace et lucifer memento mori.” In 1852 the crypt of Nibbia Chapel was “decorated with skeletal human remains taken from the adjacent cemetery, giving rise to the name Chapel of Bones. The chapel was heavily damaged by aerial bombardment in 1941, and its ruins were subsequently demolished.” Ref: Wiki.
