Air: Agello, 440 m.p.h.” Knighted in 1931 by King George V for his world record at Daytona Beach, Sir Malcolm Campbell (British, 1885–1948) broke the world land speed record nine times between 1924 and 1935, his top speed being 301 m.p.h. in 1935.
