The Epping General Store, H.H. Vallis & Son

Image shows three men standing in front of the store. Store sign includes “H.R. Vallis, manager, late A.I.F.” Vallis’ son, Henry Raymond, 2nd Australian Field Artillery Brigade, left Sydney on the HMAT Aeneas on 30 September 1916. He was listed as “Acting Bombardier” and was discharged on 9 August 1919.

Grocer and ironmonger, Henry H. Vallis’ estate and business was listed for tender as a going concern in 1922. Ref: AWM; SMH, 25.1.1922.
