Danish illustrator Nielsen was among an elite group of artists, that included Arthur Rackham (Brit., 1867–1939) and Edmund Dulac (French/Brit., 1882–1953) who were part of the “golden age of illustration” during the early part of the 20th century, when elaborately illustrated books were popular.
