Australian Travel And Immigration Pamphlets

1922–1935. Group of eight promotional pamphlets in colour process screen, with cover illustrations by various Australian artists, sizes range from 23 x 20cm (stapled) to 25.4 x 50.7cm (open). Some with minor wear and discolouration.

The pamphlets encourage immigration and/or travel to Australia from “Britain” and “Northern Europe.” Five of them, from 1922 to 1924, promote livelihoods such as fruit growing, wheat and sheep farming, dairy farming, cotton growing, and irrigation enterprises. The remaining three cover either tourism (1924 and 1932) or immigration to Western Australia (1935).

Cover illustrations are by Australian artists James Northfield (1887–1973), Darryl Lindsay (1889–1976), A.B. Webb (1887–1944) and Allan M. Lewis (1895–1987). One pamphlet includes illustrations of travel posters by Percy Trompf (1902–1964) and Albert Collins (1883–1951).
