Circular Quay Ferry Terminals, NSW
c1936. Collection of five vintage silver gelatin photographs accompanied with 1877 ferry timetable, 12.9 x 23.4cm (approx. each photograph), 21.1 x 16.7cm (timetable). Foxing, stains, dents, surface loss to two images, missing portions to margins of one photograph. Four images show terminals for Manly Beach (Wharf 3); Musgrave St, Mosman Bay, Luna Park (Wharf 5); Neutral Bay and Zoological Gardens (Wharf 4); and McMahons Point and Lavender Bay, Parramatta River (Wharves 6 and 7). The fifth image shows a side and back view of a terminal. Some of the images include glimpses of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, trams and cars. The printed timetable, Manly Beach Steamers, is dated “1st January ‘77” along with minor annotations in ink. J.R. Carey is listed as managing director.
