c1978/later printing. Colour aquatint, editioned 7/75 in pencil with stamped facsimile signature and blind stamp with lion motif in lower margin, authentication stamp signed in pencil by artist’s wife “Marina” Marini verso, 51.6 x 38.2cm. Old mount burn.

Authentication stamp reads “This is an original colour etching by Marino Marini. The stamp bearing the specimen of his signature, affixed by myself, warrants the work and the edition.” This print is from a posthumous edition issued by the artist’s wife “Marina” Marini (Mercedes Pedrazzini, 1913–2008).

Known primarily as a sculptor, Marino Marini “produced his first equestrian works in the mid-1930s…The subject symbolised for him a primeval or mythical harmony between man and nature.” Ref: Tate (London); Wiki.
