Brunel, Paris.” Published from 1895 to 1900 Les Maitres de l’Affiche posters were issued in monthly instalments of four posters. Jules Chéret invented the poster format in the 1860s and his work was highly sought after by collectors. By the 1890s, due to collectors having difficulties storing the large posters, Les Maitres de l’Affiche posters were produced in a smaller format to accommodate collectors.
