1928/1931. Vintage silver gelatin photograph, titled, dated “1928”, signed “Laddie” and inscribed in pencil on backing below image and verso; dated “15 September 1928” and “’31” and signed “Lad” in crayon verso of photograph, 13.6 x 21.9cm. Chips to edges of image, slight stains, creases and paper loss not affecting image, tipped to original backing.

Inscription on backing verso reads “To my beloved [Olive Cotton] in memory of our birthday, September 1928. Lad, 22.9.31.”

Provenance: Olive Cotton estate.
