Vignettes are surrounded by decorative motifs such as an open book with poem The Flower by Alfred Tennyson; UK coat of arms; a mandolin; flowers; a bunyip; cupid; and an artist’s palette. The central panel is set in a stepped “picture frame”, with theatre curtain pulled back to reveal the beachscape, which is possibly Camp Cove, NSW. Provenance: David Ell collection.
