c1880. Soft-cover catalogue with lithographic illustrations and letterpress text, Australian distributor’s wet stamp throughout, 34.5 x 27cm. Well worn from age and handling, front cover detached, back cover missing, tears, creases, missing portions with perforations, some pages secured with old string. Cover includes publisher’s line “Palm, Fechteler & Co. Chicago, New York, Montreal.” Distributor’s stamp reads “Sole Queensland agents, J.B. Chandler & Co., Harper’s Buildings, 45 Elizabeth St, Brisbane. Phone 3518.” The title page notes “As this book is very valuable, please preserve it, and especially do not cut it up, but order by numbers.” The title page also provides information on the assortment of decorations illustrated including “flower and fruit pieces, landscapes, figures, portraits, animals, birds, Marqueterie, etc.” The catalogue illustrations also include equestriana, sporting, animal and heraldic transfer ornaments, as well as lettering.
