These photographs document the opening of the Newcastle Town Hall by Governor Sir Dudley de Chair (1864–1958). Other notables shown include Bertram Light (1889–1950), the son of former mayor Morris Light (1859–1929), who was the driving force behind the town hall development amongst other accomplishments.
