This is the only known signed impression of this highly sought after image by Teague.

Melbourne artist Violet Teague was the “first Australian to demonstrate a sustained interest in, and an understanding of Japanese woodblock printmaking.” She developed an interest in printing techniques while studying overseas at Atelier Blanc Garin, Brussels, between 1893 and 1896.
